It’s morning. The day after. Feet, back, shoulders, neck and head all hurt. Ears are ringing. It’s painful getting out of bed. 8 hours on your feet running around, contorting your body into all sorts of unnatural positions can do that to you. Limp to the kitchen. Coffee asap! Next stop, computer. Staring back are the faces of yesterday’s wedding couple, smiling. Pain gone. It’s like taking a handful of Aleve, only a million times better. Another look at the smiling faces, then a flash back to a memory of something said, or maybe indirectly overheard. A little chuckle. Pain is now a distant memory, overridden by the thrill of seeing amazing photos come to life. Knowing another couple is going to cherish my images for the rest of their lives. Is the pain worth it? Absolutely.
I’ve been shooting forever and still love it. When I was 13 I started working with my dad, a pro wedding photographer. I was hooked then and I can’t imagine doing anything else now. It’s what I’m meant to do with my life. Going to work for me is fun. It means going to a party where everyone is going to be in a good mood, sharing the love, ready to smile, socialize, dance, and celebrate. Seriously, how bad can that be? It beats sitting in a cubicle!

In 1995 I photographed my first wedding. From that first moment I knew this would be my profession and today I still can’t think of anything else I’d rather be doing. Five years later I decided that in order for me to really push myself with weddings I needed an education. I graduated from Brooks Institute of Photography in 2003 and have not stopped since. Everyday I absorb myself into the creative and push to see what I will turn out from each wedding. I adore every element from the unexpected journalistic surprises to even the family portraits. I love watching the emotions run through the day, from the expression on parent’s faces, to the interactions of new in- laws. All of it pulls me in, in a way that I am sometimes left wondering if I am dreaming.

I had braces for 5 years and I still hate my teeth.

My son Weston was named first by his cousin Sarah and 2nd after photographer Edward Weston.

Engagement Sessions
These are a must have! And oh-so-much fun!! The value of doing an engagement session is un-measureable…(seriously, we tried to measure it and couldn’t!) Not only do you walk away with some life-lasting photographs, but this is a great time to introduce your face to our cameras! This is a relaxed, laid back, hang out time to get to know you as a couple and take some fun photos. Before you know it you’ll feel comfortable in front of the cameras and when we show up to shoot your wedding we’ll feel more like friends then paparazzi!
